List Of Musical Themed Books For Children

Here Are Some Musical Themed Children Story Books – Never Too Early To Learn About Music

Music is everywhere. They tell stories of people, they speak the feelings of the composer in an elegant way, and music is just very nice to listen to. In today’s society, famous musicians make millions of dollars with one single song. It is a great way to teach your kids about music and the beauty of the music world using children story books.

Here are some musical books for children that I really enjoyed reading. They are great for kids, children or young readers. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good children’s book.

1. Zin! Zin! Zin! A Violin (Aladdin Picture Books) – ISBN 1442010762, 9781442010765
This is a very nice musical book for children. Definitely one of the best I’ve seen. The book introduces the reader to various musical instruments. They appear one by one and then they later combined to form a ten piece orchestra. The book also very multi cultural. It features a variety of people from different parts of the planet. The artwork or illustrations aren’t bad but they aren’t great either. I would say it’s pretty good but it could have been better. I definitely recommend this book if your child likes music or if you want to introduce your child to musical instruments.

2. The Jazz Fly (book w/ audio CD) – ISBN 1889910171, 978-1889910178. 30 Pages
A really great musical book for children. This is probably the only one I know that is about Jazz. Very good story and a great book to introduce children to the wonderful world of music and jazz. This book encourages children to also think creatively in music and to think creatively overall.

3. The Philharmonic gets dressed By Karla Kuskin, Marc Simont – ISBN 0060236221, 9780060236229. 44 Pages

A really good musical book for children. The illustrations are great. A lot of children do enjoy the illustrations from what I read in online stores. The pictures are very bright and pretty good. This book comes with a CD. This is a great way to teach children about the various musical instruments in an orchestra.

5. The Remarkable Farkle Mcbride By John Lithgow – ISBN 1442004207, 9781442004207. 40 Pages
I’m sure people have heard of the actor John Lithgow. I can’t help but think that John Lithgow wishes he is Farkle Mcbride, a talented young boy who can learn musical instruments very easily. Well the story is about Farkle and his amazing ability to learn how to play musical instruments. However, he just doesn’t enjoy it or he feels like something is missing. But he manages to find his true calling at the end when the conductor became ill. I’m sure, by now, everyone already has a pretty good idea on what his true calling is.

6. The story of the orchestra By Robert Levine, Meredith Hamilton – ISBN 1579121489, 9781579121488. 96 Pages
A very effective musical book for children about teaching kids different musical instruments in an orchestra. It comes with a CD too. It’s also a great book to introduce kids to the wonderful world of classical music. This children’s book about music contains a lot of information about music while being easy to read. It is very fun and doesn’t feel like lesson.

7. Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf:
With a Fully-Orchestrated and Narrated CD BY Janet Schulman, Sergei Prokofiev, Peter Thomas, Erich Kunzel, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra – ISBN 0375924302, 9780375924309. 40 Pages
I really like this book actually. This is a great musical book for children to introduce any child to the world of classical music. Although the ending is very mild and more gentle than I would hope it would be. I guess the author is trying to make it more gentle to reach a wide variety of children.
