Here Is A List Of Very Popular Mystery Books For Children That Your Kid Will Enjoy
Mysteries are a very popular genre especially when it comes to children’s books. Harry potter is a mystery book and it is one of the best sellers of all time. Mystery books continue to be read and bought by adults and kids even today. Here are a some mystery books that I recommend for kids, young readers or children. I ranked these with how many people rated the books and liked them from an online site other than this one. I also inserted a few favorites of mine.
1. The Invention of Hugo Cabret
ISBN 0439813786, 9780439813785. 533 Pages
The story is as impressive as the drawings or illustrations inside this book. We get to see Hugo, a lovable 12 year old boy, who tries to maintain the clocks, in doing so, he hopes to be able to keep his home and be able to repair the clock that his father cherish. The illustrations of this book are amazing. It is very beautiful and it fits the story very well. It feels like a masterpiece instead of a kid’s book which is why this has remained one of my most recommended books for children.
2. Artemis Fowl (new cover)
ISBN 9781423124528, 978-1423124528. 304 Pages
I haven’t read this one yet but I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about this particular book. Unfortunately this is very similar to Harry Potter in terms of the feel and the characters. This is a very adventurous book and doesn’t look too heavy with only 304 pages. If you like a good mystery that is meant for young adults and young children, then give this book a try.

A very enjoyable book. This is a great mystery book for children and even some adults love this mystery book. The illustrations compliment the story very well. The clues, puzzles and riddles aren’t very complicated that young children can make a connection and solve them. Another great thing about this book is that it is very funny and has a lot of humour.
Here’s A List Of Mystery Books For Young Adults
This list doesn’t have a lot of pictures and illustrations. They have lots of chapters and uses texts to tell the stories rather than illustrations that are very common in children’s books. So this may not be suitable for children ages 4 and below.
1. Stormbreaker By Anthony Horowitz

A very fabulous mystery book for young adults. We get to follow Alex, a 14 year old kid who wants to find out who is his uncle’s killer. Alex makes one discovery after another until he is fully deep inside his uncle’s undercover world. The secret organization Special Operations Division of M16 blackmails Alex into serving England. It is like James Bond with a nice twist. Full of mysteries, gadgets, and unforgettable villains that can hook a reader into reading one page after another.
2. Hoot By Carl Hiaasen

The story is very funny, unforgettable and a great mystery book for anyone who likes to read books.
3. The Alchemyst By Michael Scott

This mystery book is very intriguing and very fun to read. This is about a twin Josh and Sophie. They are both working for a part time job across each other to save money for a new car. Unfortunately, Josh’s boss is Nicholas Flamel, a very widely known and powerful alchemist. Before the twins know it, they are are swept into a magical and adventurous world. 4. The Name of This Book Is Secret By Pseudonymous Bosch

Another great mystery book for young adults. This has 384 pages of a wonderful story that just grabs readers and takes them in a roller coaster ride of adventure. Two little kids uncover a society who is after immortality which unfortunately means a lot of trouble for the little kids. The only thing I don’t like about this book for young adults is that there isn’t really a big secret to uncover at the end. The story is still very fun and I recommend people who loves mysteries to read it.
5. Harriet the Spy By Louise Fitzhugh
ISBN 0440416795, 9780440416791. 320 Pages
Harriet the spy is a very good mystery book. There is actually a motion picture about this book. The book shows a honest look at the problems that children face. It also shows their emotions and feelings on the matter. Harriet keeps a little notebook about what she thought of her friends and people around her. When her classmates found the notebook, and they read some awful things written about themselves, Harriet became an outcast. This is a great mystery book with very memorable and fun characters.
